Ragamuffins Restaurant Destroyed in Fire
So sad to hear that Ragamuffins Bar & Restaurant on 1st street in Holetown was completely gutted by fire yesterday - it was definitely on my list of places to dine and recommend to our visitors. The West coast restaurant served great local dishes, and was very popular with visitors and locals alike. Ragamuffins was known for authentic island cuisine, juicy t-bone steaks, blackened fish, stir fried vegetables, one of my favorites - a very spicy jerk chicken salad. The restaurant was also featured in top international food publication magazines.
I don't have any info on how the fire started, and there are no reports of anyone being hurt. I sure hope they are able to rebuild soon.

Best of Barbados Fall Packages
The program invites visitors to customize vacations directly with their travel agent, selecting options from a full range of hotels, attractions and activities available on island.

Barbados on FabSearch
FabSearch says it's the ultimate travel and "going out" guide.
Think of them as your private secretary who reads glossy magazines, speaks with local trendsetters, then reports all this valuable info to you.
Basically it's a clipping service for travelers, and site members went through 24 months of blog postings, and travel related magazines for recommendations on where to stay and eat worldwide.

I couldn't agree more with their hotel choices of the Coral Reef Club, and The Crane.
And I will have to check out those new suites at The Sandpiper.
One of my favorite beach bars is listed - Mannie's Suga Shack, along with The Fish Pot Restaurant - which serves some of the best, most affordable seafood on the island.

TGI Fridays Coming to Barbados
Construction has started on the south coast to make way for a July opening of the American restaurant and bar franchise, TGI Fridays - with a price tag of $1.5 million US dollars.
The franchise holder, Prestige Holdings Limited out of Trinidad and Tobago, says the restaurant being built at the site of the "Pavillion" will accommodate a minimum of 250 customers, when completed.
The opening of the first TGI Fridays in Barbados will generate employment for 60 Barbadians, some of whom are currently in Trinidad for management training.
Prestige Holdings already has three restaurants in Trinidad and Puerto Rico, one in Jamaica and one in Santo Domingo.
A license is still being sought by the Goddard's group to bring another American restaurant chain, Subway into Barbados.
