Barbados Crane Hotel Village Update

Many of our Crane clients have been long awaiting the completion of the Crane Village. The hotel is located on the SE coast, and not close to any shopping - and few restaurants. But as many know - it's a glorious place to stay - and located on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean - Linda

Here's the latest update . . . The Crane Hotel has completed the majority of its multi-million dollar development and expansion project.

The new 55,000 square foot Crane Village has become the center of the Crane Hotel/Resort community with cobble stone streets lined with gas lamps and historic Barbadian architecture. Plenty of seating is provided on the verandahs, along with additional seating under colorful umbrellas.

Crane Village offers several fine retail stores including the Crane's General Store, Cave Shepherd - duty-free shopping, Colombian Emeralds for fine jewelry, Tamarind Seed for Barbadian arts/craft, Aweipo fine art gallery; and Apres Beach casual, trendy fashions.

Residences in the Park - several new residences are now open, with ground floor two bedrooms featuring completely private gardens, swimming pool, jacuzzi and dining gazebo; and one bedroom penthouses featuring private roof terraces with plunge pools, barbecue grill and full dining areas.

Residences in the Park - development is ongoing.

Bar 1887 - Live nightly entertainment featuring Barbadian musicians, rums from around the world and fine wines and cocktails.

D'Onofrio's Italian restaurant is now in it's pre-opening phase. D'Onofrio's will offer a casual dining option with “al fresco dining” on the Patio.

Recently on a trip to Barbados I rented a scooter from Paradise Scooter Rentals (www.paradisescooters.com). At first I was a bit scared, given the small roads in Barbados but the experience was worth while. I didn't have to deal with the Barbados traffic and the freedom of seeing this lovely island on scooter was perfect. Why would any want a car on this island? I asked myself. The rate was great as well. The scooter rental folks had a summer special here I got a two seater for only $30 USD per day. I recommend this means of getting around Barbados any day.
