Barbados 44th Independence Day - November 30th

On November 30, 1966, Barbados officially became an independent state within the Commonwealth of Nations with Errol Barrow as the inland's first Prime Minister.
Independence Day celebrations - in conjunction with the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts - takes place throughout the month.
Parliament and office buildings are brightly lit throughout the capital to mark the event. The national colours of blue and gold bulbs festoon the scene. Roundabouts on the highways are also lit up, creating a spectacular view at night.
Bajans of all ages display their talents in music, performing and visual arts, poetry, and writing, with final exhibitions and performances taking place on the last day of the month.
One of the scheduled performers is Jamaician singer G-Whizz who will perform at at charity event held at Club Extreme on Tuesday, November 30 - proceeds will aid victims of the Tudor Street fire.
