Caribbean Weekend Washington DC

pink beach.jpgBarbados, along with other Caribbean islands, will be among the exhibitors for the "Caribbean Village", which will be held at the Washington DC Convention Center on March 3-4, 2007.

Visitors will be able to collect travel information, purchase vacation deals, and win trips to the Caribbean.

The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) will showcase literary appreciation for the younger set during "Caribbean Weekend".

On March 3, Dawne Alexis Allette, a renowned author who writes children's books for toddlers to age seven, will present her song lyrics and picture books such as Caribbean Animals, What Will I Be and Choices. Choices in an hour-long show that will deliver the sites and sounds of the Caribbean in a vibrant and dynamic manner.

A native of Grenada, Ms. Allette currently resides in Baltimore, Maryland, and holds workshops in creative writing for adults and youths. The workshops are designed for anyone who has a desire to write or those who must write but find it difficult.

Cooking demonstrations from popular Caribbean chefs, special vacation offers, photographic displays and exciting Caribbean entertainment will also be available throughout the "Caribbean Weekend."

The Adventures in Travel Expo™ (ATE) in Washington, D.C. is taking place March 3-4, 2007 at the Washington Convention Center located at 801 Mount Vernon Place, NW, Washington, D.C. 20001. Public admission is $15 per person, per day for adults; children under 16 years of age are free.
