Barbadian Women Athletics Plan to Make History

Two Barbadian women plan to make history in doing what no other woman in Barbados, or the Caribbean has done - complete the Ironman Triathlon.

Jennifer Goddard will compete in the Great Floridian Ironman Triathlon on October 21 in Clermont, Florida.

The Florida Ironman race consists of a 26.2 mile marathon run, a 2.4 mile swim, and a 112 mile bike run.

Pictured above is the start of last years Ford Ironman Triathlon 2.4 mile swim.

Denise Choy will compete in the Ford Ironman Triathlon, which will be held on November 4 in Panama City, Florida.

Choy has lots of experience with having already completed two marathons in the U.S., along with four half Ironman Triathlons.
