Meet Karl Broodhagen

The September edition of Totally Barbados newsletter invites you to "Meet a Bajan", and one of those listed is the sculptor of the Bussa statue - one of my most memorable pictures of Barbados - Linda

Karl Broodhagen is truly a master of the arts, one of the foremost craftsmen of our heritage. Sculptor of the "Bussa" statue.

Karl will not seek public recognition - but he most certainly deserves it.

His most visible and, by extension, best known piece of work is the Slave in Revolt Statue of the Emancipation Monument.
