Barbados Rally Carnival

The sixth Barbados Rally Carnival is just a few weeks away.

A Geest Line freighter is already heading toward the island carrying rally cars from Europe, while the visiting crews will arrive on a Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747-400 on May 24.

Despite many regular competitors having been absent, either awaiting completion of their cars or away from the island, 32 drivers have already scored points, a number anticipated to nearly double over the period of Rally Carnival.

Barbados has held this international motorsport event for over 40 years, and the Rally attracts motor racing fans from all over the world, as well as a loyal following of local spectators.

The rally carnival has over the years acted as a major catalyst in propelling the development of motor sports in Barbados.

It has also acted as a significant boost to the island's sports tourism promotion... It really is a great way to showcase the sights and sounds of our island paradise.
