Carnival Destiny Decides to Add Barbados

One of the reason I love the travel business is there is never a dull moment, and anytime you believe a trend may be starting, just wait . . . the opposite will occur.

While I just posted the news that Carnival Legend citied high fuel costs and dropped Barbados from its cruise schedule, the Carnival Destiny has decided to drop Aruba citing fuel charges, and the opportunity to add a change to its four port schedule.

carnival destiny.jpgThe Destiny will continue to stop in Barbados, along with St. Lucia, Antigua, Dominica, and St. Thomas/St. John.

It formerly operated a four-port, seven-day cruise to St. Thomas, Dominica, Barbados and Aruba.

By removing Aruba from the itinerary, we are able to offer two new ports of call while at the same time achieving significant fuel savings,” said Vance Gulliksen, Carnival spokesperson.

Carnival CEO Bob Dickinson said in a release that “the southern Caribbean is one of the world’s most desirable cruising regions” and that “the new five-port, seven-day itinerary provides consumers with an opportunity to experience a diversity of cultures and historical landmarks, along with some of the world’s most magnificent beaches.”

Now if we can just get those Legend passengers booked on the Destiny.

Nothing is wrong with the info from Carnival except the title.. Carnival Destiny adds Barbados..It was added, it's been on the itinerary all along.
Carnival Destiny, as well as the Carnival ships Inspiration and Fascination, have been making weekly calls to Barbados for over 10years. (not all at the same time, but one right after the other). We are very happy they have decided to stay.. and yes.. we would like to get some of those other passngers onboard as well.

Thanks for stopping by. Your point is well taken, and you're right, our title was wrong. The change for the Destiny is only in the length of the cruise.
