Barbados Gold Medal Karate Winners

A victorious and elated Barbados team returned home from the 30th annual "Battle of Columbus World Championships" held March 24-25 at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, Ohio.
The Barbados team led by coaches Hal Welch, and Dr. Albert Best captured 21 medals, including 13 Gold, 5 Silver and 3 Bronze.
The Battle of Columbus is one of the largest martial arts competitions in the world with competition in 11 different martial arts disciplines.
The 18th edition of the Fitness Weekend drew an estimated 10,000 athletes competing in 12 sports. Some 75,000 attendees are expected for the continuous competition and entertainment.
More than 600 exhibition booths featured the latest in fitness equipment, clothing and nutritional supplements.
