SHOPPING IN BRIDGETOWN, AND SURROUNDING AREA

Bridgetown is the capital city, and located in the parish of St Michael.

Visitors to Bridgetown during the day will find the bustling capital full of car and foot traffic.

Broad Street is the center of duty free shopping where two of the largest department stores, Cave Sheppard and Harrison's are found. Both stores also have smaller locations in other parishes on the island.

All prices are quoted in BDS dollars - American shoppers should divide the price in half to determine the cost in American dollars.

The Barbados dollar is tied to the American dollar, and $1.98 BDS = $1.00 U.S.

Barbados offers world class shopping, and the question is often not what to buy, but can you afford it!

Barbados is not known as a cheap shopping destination, but as in any part of the world, depending on your focus . . . deals can be found on particular items. You will need your immigration slip for your duty free tax shopping.
